元警察署長が不当解雇に抗議訴訟
Seattle - Ex-Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz has filed a lawsuit against the city, alleging he was unfairly terminated for refusing politically-motivated orders from Mayor Bruce Harrell's office. Diaz claims that Mayor Harrell directly ordered the termination of Officer Dan Auderer without due process. His termination, according to Diaz, "quickly became an all-consuming and demeaning retaliation" initiated by the city's office after reviving a discredited rumor. This lawsuit further alleges that the Office of Inspector General (OIG), led by attorney Shaida Roozbeh, failed in its investigation into Diaz-Tompkins' romantic relationship. Diaz asserts that the OIG's "evidence," which originally supported claims of inappropriate behavior between Tompkins and him, was a misjudgment. Harrell’s office has not yet responded to requests for comment on this lawsuit. Updates will be provided as we receive responses. Diaz argues that the city ignored clear evidence that love letters were forged and that they rushed an "adverse and vindictive process" in just three days after his termination, leading to his unemployment benefits being blocked and a recommendation to the Washington Criminal Justice Training Commission for official removal from the force. The lawsuit also mentions violations of the Washington Public Records Act as part of attempts to further damage Diaz's career. Diaz seeks financial compensation for lost wages, damage to reputation, and mental distress, with an initial demand of $10 million. Stay tuned for more developments in this ongoing saga.
