Seattle Downtown Policing Update: Suspicious Drug Dealer Shot by Officers After Pointing Gun at Them During Pursuit In late afternoon on Friday, a drug dealer in downtown Seattle was apprehended after pointing his gun twice at Seattle Police officers during a pursuit. Patrolmen spotted the man selling drugs around Second Avenue and Battery Street around 12:20 PM. He bolted when approached by police. Witnesses say the chase led the suspect to Third Avenue towards Wall Street, where he pulled out a weapon and aimed it at an officer. After taking cover, officers pursued him again near Third Avenue. There, the suspect turned and fired his gun twice more toward the pursuing officers. One officer reportedly shot back several times. The suspect dropped his firearm and surrendered after being shot. He remains uninjured. The recovered gun has been confirmed to be a functional weapon. Fire department medics attended to a man reporting chest pain at the scene; he is set for release from hospital to King County Jail pending charges.
